Introduction: The eagerly anticipated field trip for the B.Ed. 2023-25 and B.Ed. 2022-24 batches from Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College took place on November 8, 2023. Organized by the diligent Students Union 2023-2024, headed by Chairperson K.P Drishya, the tour aimed at providing a refreshing break for the semester 3 students who had recently completed a rigorous three-month school internship.
Purpose of the Trip: The timing of the field trip, scheduled just after the demanding school internship, was intentional. The semester 3 students had spent three months immersed in school activities, and the tour was designed to rejuvenate and reset their minds before returning to college classes. Additionally, it served as an opportunity for the students to reconnect with their batch mates and create lasting memories. For the junior batch, the trip functioned as an ice-breaking session, fostering interactions with teachers and colleagues, including seniors.
Itinerary:
- Tibetan Monastery / Golden Temple Coorg: The first stop, the Tibetan Monastery or Golden Temple in Coorg, presented a cultural and spiritual experience. The intricate architecture and peaceful surroundings offered a conducive atmosphere for students to absorb the tranquility and diverse cultural influences.
- Nisargadhama Exotic Bird Park: The second destination, Nisargadhama Exotic Bird Park, offered students a serene environment to unwind. Surrounded by nature and an array of bird species, it provided a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection after the intensity of the school internship.
- Dubare Elephant Camp: The final destination, Dubare Elephant Camp in Kodagu (Coorg), provided an immersive experience with wildlife. Interacting with elephants, students gained insights into conservation efforts and the historical significance of these majestic creatures.
Journey Details: The excursion commenced promptly at 6 AM on November 8, with students boarding two well-equipped tourist buses. The journey meandered through picturesque landscapes, enhancing the overall experience. The return journey concluded at 1 AM on November 9, bringing the students back to the college safely.
Conclusion: The field trip to Coorg was not merely a tour but a well-thought-out initiative to provide students with a holistic experience. It succeeded in its objective of rejuvenating the semester 3 students after their intense school internship. The Students Union’s meticulous planning, coupled with the enthusiastic participation of both teachers and students, contributed to the success of the trip. Such initiatives play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging academic environment, promoting camaraderie among students, and creating lasting memories.
