Remembering Sarojini Naidu on National Women’s Day
The Department of Natural Sciences conducted the morning assembly on February 13, 2024.
The beginning of the day sets the tone for the rest of the day. Anagha and Anusree started the day with a melodious and soul touching prayer.
Vishnupriya led the gathering in pledge with clarity and confidence and instilled the sense of nationality in everyone.
The Department of Natural Sciences highlighted the various specialties of the day. Ayfoona Abdul Razak spoke at length about Sarojini Naidu and her contributions to Indian women’s rights activism. She also highlighted her literary prowess. Jugunu recited a poem of Sarojini Naidu titled ‘The Broken Wing’ beautifully and enthralled the audience.
Anjali then talked about World Radio Day, Kiss Day,etc. She reminded everyone of the passing of the great lyricist O.N.V. Kurup years ago. The day ended with the soulful lines of O.N.V. reverberating in the hearts of all.
