STUDY TOUR 2024

Kannur Salafi B Ed College organized an educational tour to Goa from March 3 to March 7, with 20 students and 2 escorting staff members participating. The tour coordinator, Ms. Sudha M, arranged visits to several prominent landmarks in Goa, including the Old Goa Church, Mangueshi Temple, and Miramar Beach,Chapora fort, Aguda fort, Baga beach, Anjuna beach etc. This type of educational tour can provide valuable experiences and insights for students, allowing them to learn about different cultures, history, and traditions outside of their usual academic environment. The tour provided students with a firsthand experience of Goa’s rich cultural heritage, encompassing both its Christian and Hindu traditions.

 Visits to landmarks like the Old Goa Church offered valuable insights into the region’s historical significance, contributing to students’ historical understanding beyond textbooks. Social Learning: Interactions with local communities and exposure to diverse cultural practices fostered social awareness and cultural sensitivity among the participants.

Following the visit to the Old Goa Church, the group proceeded to Mangueshi Temple, one of the most prominent Hindu temples in Goa. Students gained insights into Hindu religious practices and the architectural grandeur of the temple.

 The tour included a visit to Miramar Beach, where participants enjoyed leisure time by the serene coastline. It provided a refreshing break from the educational visits, allowing students to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of Goa’s beaches.

Students had a memorable experience at Baga Beach, engaging in water sports and beach activities, immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere.

The tour included an exploration of Chapora Fort, offering panoramic views of the coastline. Students learned about the fort’s historical significance and its role in Goan history.

 Excursion to Aguada Fort provided students with insights into the fortifications and its strategic importance in protecting Goa from invasions.

The tour concluded with a visit to Panjim for shopping. Students explored local markets and shops, purchasing souvenirs and gifts for loved ones back home.

The educational tour organized by Kannur Salafi B Ed College to Goa was a resounding success. Through visits to significant landmarks and cultural sites, students gained valuable insights into history, culture, and traditions outside of their academic curriculum. Such experiential learning opportunities are instrumental in broadening students’ horizons and nurturing a holistic understanding of the world around them.
