VARANASI: The Gate of Heaven

On March 18,2024, the English Department of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College held the morning session with the virtual tour to Varanasi, highlighting the humane values the place upholds. The session began with the invocation of God’s blessings and the pledge. The session was led by Anagha.T.

Varanasi, also known as Kashi, is a city in India that is considered the spiritual capital of the country. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back to the 11th century BC.

The city is located on the banks of the Ganges River, which is considered sacred by Hindus. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges River washes away sins and helps achieve moksha, or liberation from the cycle of rebirth.

Anagha gave an interesting overview about Varanasi through a video. It depicted how people swarm to the place in seek of salvation, the rituals and beliefs. Any person who visits Varanasi will definitely have an insight that every man is nothing but a combination of flesh and blood; so, however limited our time on earth be,let’s do good and seek moksha.

The session concluded with the reflection by Sudha ma’am who reminded us of the importance to do good and be beneficial for our fellow beings.
