
Kannur Salafi B.Ed College organized a Legal Awareness Programme under the Women Cell on 18th December 2024 in the college’s conference hall. The session aimed to provide teacher trainees with essential knowledge on legal aspects relevant to education and societal responsibilities.
The resource person for the event was Advocate Aboobacker K.P., a distinguished member of the Taliparamba Bar Association. The program commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Sobha S, the Principal of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, who introduced and welcomed Advocate Aboobacker to address the gathering.
Advocate Aboobacker delivered an informative and engaging session, focusing on child rights and other critical legal issues that educators may encounter. Drawing from his extensive experience as a legal professional, he shared real-life examples and practical insights that resonated deeply with the audience. His session emphasized the importance of understanding legal frameworks to protect the rights of children and ensure ethical practices in the teaching profession.
The participants found the session highly beneficial, as it provided clarity on legal responsibilities and the role of teachers in safeguarding student welfare.
Towards the end of the program, Gopika and Shahbaz, representing the student trainees, shared their feedback on the session. They expressed their appreciation for the resource person’s ability to make complex legal concepts accessible and relevant to future educators. Ms. Sudha, Asst Professor said vote of thanks to the programme.
The programme was a significant step in enhancing the legal awareness of teacher trainees and equipping them with knowledge to navigate their professional roles responsibly. The Women Cell of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College received commendation for organizing such an impactful session.
