
On 7th January 2024, Kannur Salafi B Ed College organized an insightful Communicative English Class for its teacher trainees. The class aimed at enhancing the communication skills of future educators, equipping them with the tools to engage in effective communication in both academic and professional settings. The session commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Sobha, the Principal of the college, who extended her heartfelt greetings to the guest speaker, Mr. Joseph Varghese. Dr. Sobha expressed the importance of improving communicative competence for aspiring teachers and highlighted how essential it is to build fluency and confidence in English.
The resource person, Mr. Joseph Varghese, a senior faculty member at the Overseas Fluency Training Centre, conducted the class with great expertise and enthusiasm. He focused on practical strategies for improving English speaking and listening skills, essential for both personal and professional development.
The interactive session was a key feature of the class. Mr. Varghese used a variety of techniques to engage the trainees, encouraging them to actively participate in discussions and practice their language skills through role-plays and group activities. The practical session provided an opportunity for the teacher trainees to utilize the skills they had learned. Mr. Varghese gave them exercises and scenarios to practice real-life communication, which proved to be incredibly beneficial for the trainees in applying theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. The trainees responded positively to the session. Several students shared their feedback, highlighting the effectiveness of the session.
