Kannur Salafi B.Ed College (formerly Kannur Salafi B.Ed College) hosted a successful inter-departmental food fest on February 12, 2025. The event, inaugurated by Principal Dr. Shorba S at 10:45 AM showcased the culinary talents of the English, Malayalam, Natural Science, Social Science, and Mathematics departments. Pricipal Dr. Shorba.S also announced the college’s new name, Salafinde Salkaram, during the inauguration.
Each department operated a themed food stall, offering dishes at competitive prices. The stall names reflected the creative spirit of the competition:
●Mathematics – Puyapla Thakkaram
●Social Science – Ithathatamarude Dhuniyav
●Natural Science – Ammayi Thakkaram
● English – Sufra
●Malayalam – Kuyyalum Basim
The Food Fest, held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, provided a platform for students and faculty to enjoy a diverse range of culinary offerings. The highlight was the prize distribution ceremony, where the following departments were recognized:
▪︎ First Prize (Joint Winners): Natural Science Department and Social Science Department
▪︎Second Prize (Joint Winners): Mathematics Department and Malayalam Department
▪︎Special Jury Award: English Department, for their immersive Arabian-themed stall, “Sufra.”
The Food Fest successfully fostered community spirit within Salafinde Salkaram, combining a friendly culinary competition with the college’s academic environment.
