
Kannur Salafi B. Ed College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Math’s Club, celebrated Pi Day on March 14, 2025 with great enthusiasm. Pi Day is observed annually to honor the mathematical constant π (Pi), which is approximately equal to 3.14159. This special day serves to highlight the importance of mathematics in both academic learning and daily life.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Anitha PC, Assistant Professor of General Education at the college. In her inaugural speech, Ms. Anitha emphasized the significance of Pi in various mathematical calculations and its historical relevance. She also spoke about the importance of fostering a deeper interest in mathematics among students and encouraged them to explore the fascinating world of numbers and their applications.
Following the inauguration, Asha Asokan, a member of the Maths Club, took the stage to explain the importance of Pi Day. Asha provided an insightful overview of Pi’s role in the world of mathematics, touching upon its use in geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. She also shared interesting facts about Pi, such as its infinite, non-repeating nature, and how it has been a subject of fascination for mathematicians and enthusiasts alike.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rakhi, who expressed gratitude to all those involved in organizing the event. Rakhi thanked the dignitaries, speakers, participants, and the college community for their active participation in making the celebration a success.
