PAMPHLET DITRIBUTION 12-06-2025
On 12th June 2025, the Science Club of Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College conducted an outreach activity in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Kuttiattur Grama Panchayath. The program aimed to raise awareness about common rainy season diseases such as dengue, malaria, chikungunya, typhoid, and leptospirosis. With the onset of the monsoon, these diseases become more prevalent, and early awareness is crucial for prevention. As part of the program, the students were divided into five groups, each consisting of 11 members. They were assigned different residential areas near the college to distribute pamphlets and interact with the local community. The pamphlets, prepared by the Health Departments, included simple and clear information on disease prevention, personal hygiene, avoiding stagnant water, safe drinking practices, and early identification of symptoms.
Before the outreach, an orientation session was held at the college, where Principal Dr. Naseerali M.K. and representatives from Kuttiattur Grama Panchayath addressed the students and appreciated their initiative. The students then visited nearby houses, distributed the pamphlets, and gave brief explanations to the residents. They also answered questions and offered practical tips on maintaining a clean and safe environment during the rainy season. The community responded positively to the students’ efforts, showing appreciation for the valuable health information shared. The students, in turn, gained practical experience in community engagement and public health education. The activity concluded with a feedback session at the college, where students reflected on their experiences and insights. This outreach program effectively strengthened the college’s commitment to community service and highlighted the important role of educational institutions in promoting health awareness and social responsibility.
