As part of the college’s best practice and outreach initiatives, Kannur Salafi B.Ed, organized a meaningful visit to the CH Centre on August 27, 2025, with 52 students and six faculty members. The visit was led by our Administrative Officer, Mr. Abdulla Sir, and Dr. Ashraf T.P. Sir, who joined the team to guide and motivate the students. The college bus departed from the campus at 11:00 a.m., carrying not only the team but also the gifts and essentials prepared for distribution among the residents of the centre. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and members of the centre, which created a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. Mr. Shamshudeen Sir, the Secretary of the CH Centre, provided a detailed introduction to the institution, explaining its objectives, the services it offers, and the methods they follow to care for patients and the elderly. This session helped our newly admitted students understand the importance of community service and the need to extend empathy and support to those in need. Mr. Ashraf Sir delivered an insightful address about the centre’s history and its ongoing efforts to improve the lives of its residents.
Dr. Ashraf Sir emphasized the importance of continuing our visits and extending consistent support to the centre in various ways. He also emphasized the importance of protecting and caring for such individuals, ensuring they receive the respect, love, and support they truly deserve. Our Administrative Officer, along with Ms. Anitha P.C., Assistant Professor in General Education, also shared their experiences from previous visits, which inspired the students to engage actively with the inmates and learn from their stories. During the visit, students and faculty members distributed the gifts and spent quality time with the patients and elderly people at the centre. This interaction not only brought smiles to the faces of the residents but also gave the students a sense of fulfillment and a deeper understanding of social responsibility. Many students expressed that the experience was eye-opening, as it taught them the value of compassion, empathy, and service to humanity.
The visit concluded with a heartfelt note of gratitude from the centre’s authorities, appreciating the college’s consistent involvement and support. The students returned with renewed enthusiasm to participate in more such community service activities in the future. Overall, the visit was a wonderful and enriching experience, reinforcing the college’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible educators for the future.
