The Salafi B.Ed. College observed International Ozone Day on 16 September 2025 with great enthusiasm and commitment towards environmental protection. The programme was jointly organized by the Nature Club and Science Club in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The celebration began with a warm welcome and smooth anchoring by Helna, who guided the sequence of events. An introductory speech highlighting the importance of Ozone Day and the need to protect the ozone layer was delivered by Sanjana, creating awareness about global efforts and the relevance of the Montreal Protocol.
A solemn pledge to protect the environment was administered by Afra, where all participants promised to contribute to ozone conservation through eco-friendly practices. To reinforce the significance of international environmental agreements, a documentary presentation was screened, focusing on the Montreal Protocol and other major environmental treaties.
An engaging quiz competition on ozone layer protection and environmental issues was conducted by Henna, which generated active participation from students. Sana emerged as the winner of the quiz and was awarded a beautiful outdoor garden plant as a symbol of green living.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the audience motivated to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to the preservation of the ozone layer. The event successfully raised awareness on the 2025 Ozone Day theme, “From Science to Global Action,” and emphasized the role of collective action in safeguarding the environment.
