
The Social Science Club of Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College organized a Gandhi Jayanthi celebration on October 3, 2025, to honor the ideals and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. The program commenced at 12:00 p.m. and was anchored by Ms. Nafiya.
The session began with a welcome speech by Ms. Alfiya, who highlighted the significance of Gandhi Jayanthi and the relevance of Gandhian values in today’s world. Following this, the students presented a group song and a group dance as a tribute to the Father of the Nation, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and unity.
A documentary on the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi was screened, providing valuable insights into his philosophy of truth, non-violence, and simplicity. To further engage the students, a quiz competition on Gandhian ideals and the freedom movement was conducted, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Ms. Sudha, faculty Social Science, shared her reflections on Gandhiji’s teachings and their relevance in shaping responsible citizens and teachers. The program concluded at 1.00 p.m., leaving the participants inspired by the values of peace, truth, and harmony that Gandhiji stood for.
Overall, the celebration was a meaningful tribute that reinforced the importance of Gandhian thought among the teacher trainees.
