World Food Day Celebration – October 16, 2025
In observance of World Food Day, the Science Club and Nature Club of Salafi B.Ed College, Villagemukku, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a special awareness program on October 16, 2025. The event aimed to highlight the significance of healthy eating habits and the importance of food security in building a sustainable future.
The program began with a warm welcome and an introductory speech by Ms. Afra, who emphasized the global importance of World Food Day. She shed light on the need to adopt nutritious eating habits, reduce food wastage, and make mindful dietary choices to maintain good health and well-being. Her talk effectively set the tone for the day’s theme — “Healthy Diets for a Zero Hunger World.”
Following the inaugural session, a Healthy Salad-Making Competition was conducted for the students. The competition encouraged creativity, teamwork, and awareness about nutritious food choices. A total of five teams representing various departments participated enthusiastically, preparing a variety of colorful and appetizing salads using fresh vegetables, fruits, and natural ingredients.
The judging panel evaluated the salads based on nutritional value, creativity, presentation, and taste. After a keenly contested round, the Mathematics Department team emerged as the first prize winners, while the Natural Science Department team secured the second position. The participants’ enthusiasm and innovative approaches reflected their deep understanding of the importance of healthy food practices.
The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Mr. Abdullah, the College Administrator, felicitated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participants. He also commended the Science and Nature Clubs for organizing such an engaging and meaningful event that promoted health awareness and environmental responsibility among students.
