
Kannur Salafi B.Ed College organized an ICT Workshop for the 2024–25 batch as part of enhancing the digital competency of prospective teachers. The session aimed to familiarize student teachers with the significance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the contemporary educational landscape and to equip them with practical skills for effective classroom application.
The program began with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Dhanya, faculty member of the institution. She invited and introduced the resource person, Dr. Naseerali M.K, Head of the Department, ITEP, Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous).
Dr. Naseerali delivered an informative and interactive session focusing on the importance of ICT in teaching and learning, emphasizing how digital tools enhance engagement, accessibility, and efficiency in the classroom. He explained in detail the advantages of ICT, including improved communication, better instructional strategies, and increased opportunities for collaborative learning.
The resource person also demonstrated various digital tools that student teachers can incorporate into their professional practice. He highlighted user-friendly platforms and applications useful for lesson planning, content creation, assessment, interactive teaching, and classroom management. The session helped students understand how ICT integration can transform traditional teaching into a more dynamic and learner-centered process.
At the end of the workshop, participants shared their reflections. Devadarsh and Ayisha expressed their valuable feedback, appreciating the clarity, relevance, and practicality of the session. They noted that the workshop boosted their confidence to apply ICT tools effectively during teaching practice.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a highly productive and enriching learning experience for the 2024–25 batch students.
