
Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, through its Social Science Club in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), observed Human Rights Day on 9th December 2025 with great relevance and academic spirit. The program aimed to create awareness among teacher trainees about the significance of human rights and their role in promoting justice, dignity, and equality in society.
The session began with an introductory address by the organizers, highlighting the relevance of Human Rights Day and its global observance. Ms. Aiswarya delivered an informative and engaging talk on the history, evolution, and importance of Human Rights Day. She explained the origin of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the efforts of the United Nations, and the need to protect human rights in contemporary society. Her presentation helped students understand the broad spectrum of rights and responsibilities that contribute to a just social order.
Following the talk, a documentary on human rights was screened for the participants. The documentary provided deeper insights into real-life issues, global challenges, and inspiring stories related to human rights protection and violations. It enriched the awareness of the trainees and encouraged critical reflection.
The program concluded with remarks by Mrs. Sudha M., Faculty of Social Science, who emphasized the role of teachers in fostering human rights values in classrooms and communities. She appreciated the efforts of the Social Science Club and encouraged students to uphold human dignity, equality, and justice in their professional practice.
