The inauguration of “Synergy 25,” the College Union and Fine Arts Association for the academic year 2024-25, was held on January 10, 2025, at the Conference Hall of Kannur Salafi Bed College. The event was graced by distinguished guests and well-wishers, making it a remarkable occasion for the college community. The program was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister, Sri. Ramachandran Kadannapally, Minister for Registration and Archaeology. His presence added great significance to the occasion, and he addressed the audience about the importance of democracy in college unions and the role they play in empowering students. The minister also showcased his musical talent by performing a song for the audience, which was well appreciated.
Mr. Anaj, a renowned India Book of Records holder, was also present at the event. As part of his extraordinary contribution, he created a portrait of the minister using only his foot and wooden dust powder. This impressive feat left everyone in awe and further added to the uniqueness of the ceremony.The event was presided over by Anjitha A, the Union Vice-Chairperson, who led the proceedings with grace. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Ayisha Tilakandy, who extended a warm greeting to all the dignitaries and participants.
The Principal, Dr. Sohba S, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of student participation in college unions and fine arts activities, which play a vital role in holistic development. The inauguration was followed by felicitation speeches from several esteemed individuals, including Kutiatoor Panchayat Ward Member, Mr. Sasidharan; Administrative Officer, Mr. Abdulla TP; Staff Advisor, Ms. Sudha M; UUC Devadarsh; and K.P. Drishya, all of whom highlighted the significance of student leadership and the value of cultural activities in the academic ecosystem.
In a special gesture of appreciation, Dr. Sohba presented organic vegetables, cultivated within the college grounds, to the distinguished guests. This symbolized the college’s commitment to sustainability and promoting organic farming.
The event was concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Manju, who acknowledged the efforts of all those involved in organizing the successful inauguration. After the official inauguration session, a series of vibrant cultural programs were organized, showcasing the immense talent of the students.
