On 14th January 2025, a panel discussion was organized by the students of Kannur Salafi B Ed College at the conference hall. The topic of the discussion was centered around the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and the Kerala Curriculum Framework (KCF). The event was attended by both senior and junior students, along with faculty members.
The panel discussion began with the senior students, who presented a comprehensive overview of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). They covered a range of aspects, including the key principles of NCF, its objectives, and its implications for the education system in India. The students delved into the merits and demerits of the framework, emphasizing its role in promoting quality education and critical thinking, while also discussing its challenges, such as regional disparities and the need for better implementation.
Following this, the junior students took the floor to present their insights on the Kerala Curriculum Framework (KCF). They discussed the evolution of KCF, its alignment with the socio-cultural needs of Kerala, and how it aims to make education more inclusive and student-centric. The students highlighted the framework’s focus on local context, language, and culture, and also debated its limitations, such as the need for a more robust infrastructure for its effective execution.
Throughout the session, both senior and junior students engaged in a deep inquiry into the subject, raising pertinent questions and providing insightful responses. The discussion was marked by a high level of intellectual engagement, with the students showing a clear understanding of both frameworks and their potential impact on education in India and Kerala.
The audience also actively participated in the discussion, raising several doubts and queries related to the NCF and KCF. These questions led to further elaboration on topics such as the need for teacher training, the role of technology in education, and the importance of adapting the curriculum to the changing needs of students.
The discussion was concluded by Ms. Sudha M, a faculty member at the college, who summarized the key points covered during the session. She highlighted the importance of understanding both frameworks and their potential to shape the future of education.
