
As part of the first phase of the Anti-Drug Awareness Classes initiated through the Coordinator Meeting, it has been decided to organize an Anti-Drug Awareness Session in our Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College. Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Anti-Drug Cell, organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on 23rd October 2025. The initiative aimed to create awareness among teacher trainees about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of maintaining a drug-free campus and community.
The session commenced at 2:00 PM in the college conference hall. The resource person, Shri Rajesh Malappattam, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Crime Branch, Kannur, delivered an impactful and informative session. As a trainer, counsellor, and psychotherapist, he discussed the psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug addiction. He emphasized the role of teachers in identifying early signs of substance abuse and guiding students towards positive lifestyles. The programme was anchored by Ms. Harsha, who efficiently coordinated the proceedings.The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Sariga, who warmly greeted the guests, faculty members, and students, emphasizing the need for awareness programmes to combat the rising issue of substance abuse.Interactive discussions were held, where students shared their views and raised questions. Shri Rajesh provided practical strategies for awareness creation and community involvement in anti-drug initiatives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Vyshna, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the Principal, faculty members, and all participants for their cooperation and active involvement. The session was highly enlightening and left a lasting impression on everyone present.
