
Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College, in association with IQAC, organized a Value Added Certificate Course on Communicative English for student teachers. The program was conducted on 13 and 14 November 2025 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm at the college Conference Hall.
The course was designed to enhance the communicative competence of B.Ed students, enabling them to develop greater confidence and proficiency in English language usage—an essential skill for future educators. The sessions were handled by the resource person Hari Gopinath, Strategic Communication Coach (MA Literature), who brought his expertise in communication strategies and language training to the workshop.
Throughout the two-day program, the resource person engaged the participants in various interactive and practical activities aimed at improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. He emphasized the importance of effective communication in the teaching profession and provided strategies to strengthen verbal and non-verbal communication. The workshop also focused on pronunciation, vocabulary development, presentation skills, and classroom communication techniques.
The participants found the sessions highly beneficial, as the course offered both theoretical insights and hands-on practice. The Value Added Course successfully supported the students in enhancing their language proficiency, thereby enriching their professional readiness as future teachers.
