
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College organized an Orientation Session on 22 July 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the Conference Hall for the B.Ed. 2026–2028 batch. The programme was conducted with the objective of helping prospective teachers understand the essential skills, attitudes, and professional values required for becoming effective educators in the twenty-first century.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by the IQAC Coordinator, who welcomed the distinguished resource person and the newly admitted student teachers. The session was presided over by Dr. Seena R. O., Principal, Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College, who emphasized the significance of orientation programmes in preparing student teachers for the academic and professional demands of teacher education.
The resource person, Sri Biju Niduvaloor, renowned teacher and motivational speaker, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Essential Skills and Attitude for Effective Teaching.” He highlighted that effective teaching extends beyond subject knowledge and requires a combination of communication skills, empathy, creativity, adaptability, critical thinking, and continuous self-improvement. He encouraged the student teachers to develop a learner-centered approach, maintain a positive attitude, and embrace lifelong learning to meet the evolving needs of education.
Sri Biju also stressed the importance of professional ethics, emotional intelligence, classroom management, and technology integration in modern teaching. Through practical examples, personal experiences, and interactive discussions, he motivated the students to become reflective practitioners who can inspire and positively influence the lives of their learners.
The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to engage with the resource person, clarify their doubts, and share their expectations regarding the teaching profession. The enthusiastic participation of the students made the session lively and meaningful.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the resource person for his inspiring and thought-provoking session, the Principal for her leadership and encouragement, IQAC for organizing the programme, and all the faculty members and students for their active participation.
