Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College, in association with the Science Club, Nature Club and IQAC, organized a programme to commemorate World Ozone Day on 16 September at 9:45 AM in the Conference Hall. The programme was organized to create awareness among students about the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect the environment.
The programme began with a prayer, followed by the pledge. Various awareness-oriented activities were conducted as part of the celebration. A skit was presented by the students, highlighting environmental issues and the consequences of human activities that contribute to environmental degradation.
An interesting activity titled “Spot the Environmental Mistakes” was also conducted. Through this activity, students were encouraged to identify environmentally harmful practices and understand the importance of adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The programme focused on the significance of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth and emphasized the collective responsibility of individuals and communities in safeguarding the environment. Students were encouraged to reduce activities that contribute to environmental pollution, conserve natural resources, and promote sustainable practices.
The celebration also highlighted the theme mentioned in the programme poster: “Global Action for a Cooler Planet – Celebrating 10 Years of Sustainable Cooling under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.” The activities helped students understand the connection between environmental protection, sustainable cooling practices, and climate action.
The World Ozone Day programme was informative, engaging, and educational. The participation of students in the skit and awareness activities made the programme meaningful and helped strengthen their environmental consciousness. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment among the students to contribute towards protecting the ozone layer and creating a cleaner and sustainable environment.
