OBJECTIVES OF TEH COMMITTEE

  1. Enhance Library Resources: Continuously assess and improve the collection of books, journals, and other academic resources to meet the evolving needs of students and faculty members.
  2. Promote Access to Information: Ensure that all members of the college community have easy and equitable access to the library’s resources, regardless of their academic discipline or level of study.
  3. Facilitate Inquiry and Research Among Learners: Empower learners by conducting diverse activities centered around reading, fostering curiosity, inquiry, and research. This includes providing access to relevant literature, research databases, and scholarly materials essential for academic exploration and intellectual growth.
  4. Foster a Culture of Reading: Encourage and cultivate a habit of reading among students and faculty members by organizing book clubs, reading sessions, and literary events within the college premises.
  5. Maintain Library Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the library infrastructure, including facilities such as seating arrangements, computer terminals, and other necessary equipment for efficient use of resources.
  6. Promote Information Literacy: Develop programs and workshops to enhance the information literacy skills of students, empowering them to critically evaluate and effectively utilize various information sources for academic and personal growth.
  7. Support Curriculum Development: Collaborate with academic departments to align library resources with the curriculum, ensuring that the collection adequately supports the teaching and learning objectives of the college.
  8. Enhance Digital Resources: Explore opportunities to expand digital resources, including e-books, online journals, and databases, to complement the traditional print collection and cater to the diverse learning preferences of students and faculty.
  9. Encourage Community Engagement: Engage with the wider community by organizing outreach programs, such as book donation drives, library orientations for schools, and other initiatives aimed at promoting literacy and education beyond the college campus.
  10. Evaluate and Improve Services: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of library services and solicit feedback from users to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall service quality and user satisfaction.
