Course Title: Google Cloud Essentials for Educators

Course Objectives:

1. To familiarize educators with Google Cloud tools and services.
2. To develop practical skills for integrating Google Cloud solutions in educational settings.
3. To enhance teaching and administrative efficiency using Google Cloud technologies.

Course Outline:

Module 1: Introduction to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Overview of Google Cloud Platform
• Benefits of using GCP in education
• Key services and features of GCP

Assignment 1 (10 marks): Write a reflective essay on how Google Cloud Platform can be utilized to improve teaching and learning in your educational institution. Include at least three specific examples.

Module 2: Google Drive and Google Docs for Collaboration

• Introduction to Google Drive
• Creating, sharing, and collaborating on Google Docs
• Using Google Sheets and Google Slides for group projects

Assignment 2 (10 marks): Create a collaborative Google Doc with a peer on a given topic related to educational technology. Document the process of collaboration and reflect on its effectiveness.

Module 3: Google Classroom and Google Meet

• Setting up and managing Google Classroom
• Creating and grading assignments in Google Classroom
• Using Google Meet for virtual classes and meetings

Assignment 3 (10 marks): Develop a sample lesson plan using Google Classroom. Include details on how you would use Google Meet for live sessions and how you would assess student performance.

Module 4: Google Forms for Assessments and Feedback

• Designing and creating Google Forms
• Using Google Forms for quizzes, surveys, and feedback
• Analyzing responses and generating reports

Assignment 4 (10 marks): Design a Google Form quiz on a topic of your choice. Include various question types and demonstrate how you would use the data for assessment.

Module 5: Google Sites for Creating Educational Content

• Introduction to Google Sites
• Creating and publishing educational websites
• Incorporating multimedia and interactive elements

Assignment 5 (10 marks): Create a Google Site for a fictional educational project. Include sections for content, multimedia, and interactive features, and provide a brief rationale for your design choices.

Total Score: 50 Marks

Format:

• Section 1: Multiple Choice Questions (20 marks) – Covering general knowledge of Google Cloud services and tools.
• Section 2: Practical Tasks (20 marks) – Demonstrate proficiency in using Google Drive, Google Classroom, Google Forms, and Google Sites.
• Section 3: Short Answer Questions (10 marks) – Reflect on the use of Google Cloud tools in enhancing educational practices.
