National Science Day Celebration – February 28, 2023

Introduction:

On February 28, 2023, we  celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event was organized by the science club in collaboration with various departments to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. The event aimed to promote scientific awareness, encourage creativity, and foster a spirit of inquiry among the students.

Objectives

  • Increase awareness and appreciation for science and its applications among students and the college community.
  • Encourage a curious and questioning mindset among students by organizing interactive sessions, discussions, and exhibitions.
  • Stimulate creativity by organizing competitions such as photography, collage making, and poster making that allow students to express scientific concepts in imaginative and artistic ways.
  • Strengthen the sense of community among science enthusiasts through the active involvement of the science club.
  • Facilitate networking and collaboration among students interested in science, creating a supportive environment for shared learning and exploration.

Program highlights

Inauguration:

The event was inaugurated by the esteemed presence of Mr. Vijayan Chalod, the Principal of  Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College . His opening remarks highlighted the importance of scientific advancements and the role of students in shaping the future through their innovative contributions. The principal’s active participation added prestige to the occasion, emphasizing the college’s commitment to promoting science and education.

Competitions:

The celebration featured a variety of competitions, including photography, collage making, and poster making. These competitions were designed to engage students creatively and encourage them to express scientific concepts in innovative ways. The participants showcased their talents and demonstrated a keen understanding of scientific themes through their entries.

Science Club Involvement:

The science club played a pivotal role in organizing the event. Their dedication and hard work were evident in the seamless execution of various activities and competitions.
