AWARENESS CLASS – ANTI RAGGING

Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, in association with its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized an awareness class on “Anti-Ragging and New Generation Crimes” on 29th July 2024. The event aimed to address critical issues related to student safety and emerging crime trends. Dr. Sobha S., the Principal of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, inaugurated the session by extending a warm welcome to the chief guests and participants. She emphasised the importance of creating a safe and respectful learning environment and highlighted the need for awareness on contemporary crime issues among the student community.

The primary speaker of the session, Ms. Binitha Babu, delivered an engaging and informative presentation on anti-ragging measures and the latest trends in new generation crimes. Her session included a comprehensive overview of legal frameworks, preventive measures, and the responsibilities of educational institutions and individuals in curbing ragging and other criminal activities. Ms. Serena also contributed to the session by providing insights from a legal authority’s perspective. Her input was instrumental in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical legal applications.

Following the presentations, Ms. Binitha Babu conducted an interactive session with the trainees. This segment was designed to address questions, clarify doubts, and engage students in discussions about their roles in preventing ragging and dealing with crimes. The interaction was well-received, fostering a deeper understanding of the issues discussed. Ms. Nezla from the English Option delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guests, speakers, and participants. She acknowledged the valuable information shared and highlighted the importance of continuing such awareness programs to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

The event was a significant step towards educating the future educators on crucial societal issues and ensuring a safer educational environment. The college expressed its commitment to implementing the insights gained from the session and promoting a culture of respect and safety within its premises.
