World Suicide Prevention day September 10

In observance of World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September 2024, the Women Cell of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College organized an insightful talk on suicide prevention. The session aimed to raise awareness about mental health issues, offer preventive measures, and encourage open discussions on suicide-related topics.

Objectives of the Program:

To create awareness about suicide prevention.

To provide a platform for students to share their views on mental health.

To emphasize the importance of mental well-being and the need for timely intervention.

To foster a supportive environment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

The program began with a brief introduction to the significance of Suicide Prevention Day and its global impact. Following this, several students actively participated by sharing their personal views and experiences related to mental health, the stigma around it, and the importance of seeking help. Their input reflected a deep sense of awareness and sensitivity towards the issue. The talk proved to be highly informative, providing students with essential knowledge on how to identify and address potential suicide risks in their communities. The atmosphere was one of empathy, as students exchanged meaningful insights into coping mechanisms and support systems.

Ms. Sudha, Faculty Social Science ,  who concluded the session, reinforced the need for awareness, vigilance, and collective action in preventing suicide. She emphasized the role that teachers, friends, and family play in offering support to those in distress. Her closing remarks left a lasting impression on the participants, encouraging them to actively participate in creating a more compassionate and supportive environment.
