Kannur Salafi B.Ed College celebrated Kerala Piravi on 1st November 2024 with vibrant cultural programs, honoring the day Kerala state was formed. Led by the Malayalam Department, the event highlighted Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and traditions through a variety of engaging performances and activities.
The program began with a prayer, setting a reverent tone for the day’s celebrations. A graceful Thiruvathira dance followed, captivating the audience with its elegance and cultural significance. Students then performed group songs and dances, embodying the spirit of Kerala’s traditional arts. To add an interactive element, quizzes on Kerala’s history and culture were held, allowing students to showcase their knowledge and deepen their understanding of their heritage.
A highlight of the celebration was the “Malayali Manka” ramp walk competition, where participants showcased traditional attire and poise. Both students and teachers joined in, making the event even more lively and inclusive. In keeping with Kerala’s traditions, all girl students wore Kerala saris and pattupavadas, while the men donned mundu and shirts, adding to the visual appeal and cultural ambiance.
The celebration was a colorful and joyous event, filled with enthusiasm and unity, as students and staff alike honored Kerala’s heritage. The Kerala Piravi festivities provided a wonderful platform for everyone to connect with their roots and embrace their cultural identity.
