Kannur Salafi B.Ed College celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2024 with great enthusiasm and a sense of community responsibility. The day began with a campus-wide cleaning drive, which extended to the nearby Mukk town. The initiative focused on collecting plastic waste, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean environment in line with Gandhian values. The collected plastics were handed over to the Haritha Karma Sena for proper disposal, promoting the message of sustainability and waste management.
Principal Dr. Sobha and all the teaching faculty led the initiative, motivating the students to actively participate in the cleaning drive. This hands-on activity aimed to instil the values of cleanliness, discipline, and social responsibility among the students.
Following the cleaning drive, cultural programs were organized at the college. The events included performances that highlighted the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, with students showcasing skits, songs, and speeches centered on his life and principles.
The day’s activities served not only as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi but also as a practical exercise in community service, reflecting the college’s commitment to environmental care and societal well-being.
