KERALAPIRAVI CELEBRATION 2022

Introduction

Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College marked the celebration of KeralaPiravi Day on November 1, 2022, with a variety of events aimed at honoring the history, culture, and progress of the state. KeralaPiravi, which means “Kerala’s Birth,” is celebrated on November 1st every year to commemorate the formation of the state of Kerala. The state of Kerala was officially formed on November 1, 1956, following the reorganization of states in India based on linguistic lines. 

Objectives 

  •  To celebrate and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Kerala, including its traditional art forms, music, dance, literature, and cuisine.
  • To honor and remember the historical significance of KeralaPiravi, which marks the creation of the state based on linguistic lines during the reorganization of states in India.
  • To instill a sense of patriotism and pride among the people of Kerala for their state and its distinctive identity.
  • To promote awareness and understanding of Kerala’s history, cultural heritage, and contributions to various fields.
  • To foster a sense of community and unity among the people of Kerala, transcending regional and cultural differences.

Programme Highlights

Quiz Programs:

 The quiz programs could have been organized to educate and engage participants on various aspects of Kerala’s history, culture, and achievements. Questions may have covered topics related to the formation of the state, prominent personalities, historical events, and cultural practices. Students actively participated in the program. The quiz  had multiple rounds, covering different categories such as history, geography, literature, and contemporary issues. Prizes  have been awarded to the winners.

Anti-Drug Day Pledge:

 Observing Anti-Drug Day on KeralaPiravi is a proactive approach to address social issues. The pledge likely aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle. All students and staff took pledge to refrain from drug abuse and contribute to creating a drug-free society and formed a human chain.

Conclusion 

The KeralaPiravi Day celebrations at Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College successfully combined cultural enrichment with social awareness. Through events such as the quiz program and the anti-drug pledge, the college demonstrated its commitment to holistic education and community engagement. The festivities not only honored the historical significance of Kerala Piravi but also encouraged a sense of responsibility and pride among the participants.
