On January 31,2024 Kannur Salafi B.Ed College witnessed an interesting session on English Language and Literature. The session encompassed of a simple Language game followed by a short-story acquaintance.

The session began seeking God’s blessings through the prayer by Duna and Shilpa. The highlights of the day was conveyed through the news reading by K.V.Anagha. With these, we moved on to the core part of the session.

Mafshida hooked the attention of the audience through the word Scripturient which means ‘having a strong urge to write’. The game was to make maximum number of meaningful words out of it within 2 minutes. The students as well as teachers actively participated to give their best responses.

Utilising the vibing energy of the audience, Safvana moved on to the influential work ‘At Home’ by the Russian playwright and short story writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. The story which was written in 1887 still resonates fresh with its deeper themes and psychological aims. It is one of the ‘must-read’ story for a B.Ed student.

The session helped to create an interest in the audience to read and analyse the story by themselves. Anjana Hareendran,a friend from Natural Science volunteered to get the available copy of the story. This made the presentation even more fruitful.

The whole session was concluded with the opinion from Rayana(Malayalam department), Fayiza (Natural Science Department),Mrs.Riji Ma’am(Assistant Professor, Kannur Salafi B.Ed College).

With this, the Department of English successfully made an impactful morning for the day!
