On the 27th of March 2024, an Election Awareness Programme and Signature Campaign was conducted at Kannur Salafi B.Ed College under the guidance of SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s education and Electoral Participation). The event aimed to educate and empower students about the significance of voting and their role in shaping the democratic process.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome from the Principal, Dr. Naseerali M K, who expressed gratitude towards the members of SVEEP for their initiative in organizing the event. Mr. Gireesh, the Programme Coordinator, delivered an insightful session emphasizing the importance of exercising one’s right to vote. He elucidated on how each vote holds immense power in shaping the future of the nation.
The main motto of the programme, “My Vote, My Right,” resonated throughout the sessions, emphasizing the fundamental democratic principle of voting. A signature Campaign was also conducted and student participation was commendable.
Sri Sreekanth, along with Mrs. Sudha M, the Staff Advisor of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, also addressed the students, providing further insights into the electoral process and the responsibilities of citizens.
A mock voting session was held, allowing students to experience the voting process firsthand.
The Union Chairperson, Drishya, extended a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all participants for their active involvement and emphasizing the importance of carrying forward the spirit of democratic engagement beyond the event.
