On February 4th, 2025, the Union of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College organized a significant event to mark World Cancer Day at the college’s conference hall. The program aimed to raise awareness about cancer and its various aspects, offering valuable insights to the students and faculty present.
The session began with a thought-provoking talk by Ms. Ayisha, who discussed the various types of cancer and the risk factors associated with the disease. She emphasized the importance of early detection and the lifestyle choices that can help in reducing the risks.
Following her talk, Ms. Riji Vijayan and Ms. Sudha M spoke about the impact of cancer on individuals and families. They shared their concerns about the increasing prevalence of the disease and highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, and support for cancer patients and their families.
The event was concluded by Dr. Sobha, the Principal of Kannur Salafi B.Ed College, who extended her gratitude to the speakers and participants. She also emphasized the significance of programs like these in spreading awareness and promoting preventive health measures within the community.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Nijisha, who expressed her appreciation to all those who contributed to making the event successful.
In a creative and impactful initiative, students were divided into groups and instructed to make ribbons in the shape of the cancer awareness symbol. These ribbons were then pinned on the notice board, serving as a visible reminder of the importance of cancer awareness and prevention.
