
The Mathematics Club, in association with IQAC, organized the National Statistics Day Celebration on 29 June 2026 at 1:45 PM in the Seminar Hall of Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College. The programme was conducted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis and to create awareness among students about the importance and applications of statistics in everyday life.
The programme was efficiently anchored by Vyshna, who welcomed the gathering and coordinated the event smoothly. The celebration began with an introductory speech by Amrutha, who explained the significance of National Statistics Day and highlighted the valuable contributions of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis to the field of statistics and national planning.
A documentary presentation was conducted to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of statistics in research, education, governance, and daily life. The presentation was informative and enhanced the participants’ knowledge of statistical concepts.
The highlight of the programme was the Statistics Bingo Game, organized and conducted by Sanveera. The game included various statistical terms and concepts, making learning enjoyable and interactive. Students enthusiastically participated in the activity, and the teachers also joined the game, adding excitement and encouraging active involvement. The programme successfully combined education with entertainment and received an excellent response from everyone present.

Third Prize: Helana & Vismaya (Natural Science)
The winners were appreciated and awarded prizes for their outstanding performance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vyshna, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, IQAC, the Mathematics Club, all participants, and everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
Overall, the National Statistics Day celebration was a meaningful and successful programme. It provided an excellent platform for students to understand the relevance of statistics while promoting active participation, teamwork, analytical thinking, and a spirit of healthy competition.
