Teachers Day Programme 2026

Kannur Salafi B.Ed College organised a Teacher’s Day Celebration under the auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 7 September 2026 at 10.00 AM in the Conference Hall. The programme was organised in connection with Teacher’s Day, which is observed in India on 5 September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an eminent philosopher, educationist and former President of India.

The programme was planned to recognise the significant contributions of teachers and to encourage student-teachers to understand the dignity, responsibility and nobility of the teaching profession. Various activities were included in the celebration to express gratitude and appreciation towards teachers.

The major highlight of the programme was the honouring and keynote address by Mr. Hashim Kattambally, Teacher and Samagra Shiksha District Project Co-ordinator. Through his address, he highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the character, abilities and future of learners. He emphasised that teaching is not merely the transmission of knowledge but a noble profession that influences the intellectual, emotional, social and moral development of students.

As part of the celebration, a Letter Writing Competition on the theme “For My Favourite Teacher” was organised. The activity provided students with an opportunity to express their feelings of gratitude, respect and affection towards teachers. It also encouraged students to reflect on the influence that teachers have had on their personal and academic development.

A Teacher Appreciation programme was also conducted to acknowledge the dedication, commitment and valuable services of teachers. The celebration further included a Teacher Award, recognising the contribution and excellence of a teacher. A song presentation added a pleasant and celebratory atmosphere to the occasion.

The programme created an opportunity for the student-teachers to celebrate the teaching profession and to reflect on the qualities of an effective and inspiring teacher. It also strengthened the bond between teachers and students and reminded the participants of the responsibilities associated with the teaching profession.

The celebration concluded on a positive and meaningful note, with the active participation of the members of the college community. The programme successfully conveyed the message that teachers play a vital role in shaping the character, calibre and future of individuals and, consequently, the society at large.
