
Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College celebrated Farmers’ Day (Karshaka Dinam) on 17 August 2026, marking Chingam 1, the beginning of the Malayalam month of Chingam. The programme was organized to create awareness among student teachers about the importance of agriculture, farmers, and the rich agricultural heritage of Kerala.
The programme began with the Welcome Address by Ms. Amrutha Lal. The celebration was formally inaugurated by Dr. Seena R. O., Principal, Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College. The programme highlighted the valuable contributions of farmers and emphasized the need to respect and preserve traditional agricultural practices.
Various cultural and creative activities were organized as part of the celebration. A folk dance was presented by Meghna, and the Malayalam Department contributed to the programme through cultural presentations. An address by Ms. Sudha, IQAC Coordinator, added further significance to the occasion.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Fida. The celebration provided the students with an opportunity to understand the importance of farming and the role of farmers in ensuring food security and sustaining society. It was an informative and meaningful programme that promoted respect for agriculture and the farming community.
