The Mathematics Club of Kannur Salafi B.Ed. College organized an International Sudoku Day programme on 9 September at 10:00 AM in the Conference Hall. The programme was organized with the objective of introducing students to Sudoku and encouraging logical thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, and mathematical reasoning.
The programme began with an introduction to the significance of Sudoku as a popular number-based logic puzzle. Students were familiarized with the basic rules and techniques involved in solving Sudoku. The session highlighted how Sudoku can be used as an enjoyable learning activity to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, patience, concentration, and logical reasoning.
A Sudoku Puzzle Challenge was conducted as part of the programme. Students actively participated in solving the puzzle and enthusiastically engaged in the challenge. The activity provided an opportunity for students to apply logical strategies, identify patterns, and arrive at solutions through systematic thinking.
A discussion on Sudoku was also conducted, where students explored different approaches and techniques for solving puzzles. The interactive nature of the session made mathematics more interesting and demonstrated that mathematical learning can take place through enjoyable and engaging activities.
The programme received active participation from the students. The International Sudoku Day celebration successfully created awareness about Sudoku and its educational value while providing students with an opportunity to think, solve, learn, and enjoy mathematics.
The programme concluded with a positive response from the participants and served as an effective Mathematics Club activity aimed at promoting logical reasoning and problem-solving skills among B.Ed. students.
